EMC, through an announcement on its website by Leo Leung, Product Manager, EMC, Cloud Infrastructure Group, on June 29 announced the shutting down of the production use of EMC Atmos Online service with immediate effect.

According to the announcement, EMC will no longer support production use of Atmos Online. They will no longer offer paid subscription or support for Atmos Online services.  Any existing production accounts will not be billed either for past or future usage.   They will also not provide any SLA or other availability commitment.

They have told their current customers to migrate any critical data immediately from the service and have recommended partners that are offering services based on their platform.

This has been done mainly to ensure that they are not in direct competition with their partners who are providing products based on the same platform.
