Olive Telecommunication launches 3G embeded Netbook and a lot more

Launches a range of 3G Embedded Zipbooks for the first time in India, Unveils 7 stylish, smart, feature-rich mobile phones

Gurgaon: Olive Telecommunication has launched its new brand 'Olive Convergence'. The company has launched India's first ever range of Zipbooks (3G Embedded Netbooks).

The Zipbook is powered by Qualcomm's QSC6085™ chipset, with capabilities of EV-DO Rev. The 3G embedded Netbooks have the Intel Atom N270 processor, with 1-GB DDR2 memory and 160-GB (variations) HDD. Weighing less than 1.3 kg, Olive Convergence Zipbooks are available in 4 colours, are wi-fi enabled and have Windows XP as the operating system.

The next lot of products coming in next month will have some with Win 7 and will be on Intel's newly launched silicon-the Pineview. All Olive Zipbooks are pre-loaded with Windows Live and come with shoulder bags.

Speaking at the launch, Arun Khanna, Chairman, Olive Telecommunication said, "Olive Convergence represents the spirit of breaking down barriers and un-complicating lives of the customers and users in this rapidly emerging wireless world. Olive Convergence is an idea that is powered by an aspiration of providing our customers with products that are not only on the threshold of new technology innovations but also aim at creating new benchmarks in affordability of mobile computing
and communication products."

Olive Telecommunication has tied up with Tata Teleservices for its EVDO based Netbooks and the same will be available to consumer from select Tata Indicom Stores and Tata Photon channel. On the other hand the company for its HSPA version based Netbooks has got into an agreement with BSNL, which would be made available in all BSNL 3G circles.

The company also launched 7 models of mobile phones starting at Rs 999. These include 2 touch screen phones Olivepwrr and Olivetouch, Olivemsgr - the QWERTY keypad phone, 2 candy bar phones Olivecompacta and Oliveglide and 2 dual sim/dual standby phones V-G400 (clamshell)
and V-G500 (slider).

As a first step in the commercial roll out of its products, the company has tied-up with leading technology product distributors and re-distributors to reach out in Tier 1, 2 & 3 cities. Olive
Convergence products will be available through 10,000+ retail touch points across the country.

The company also launched a convergence devices including a modem equipped with hi capacity memory chip, ability to tune into FM, a Dictaphone and also act as an MP3 player.

The new Olive Convergence portfolio will have WCDMA, CDMA, GSM and EV-DO handsets, Mobile Computing Devices and Advanced data modems for wireless broadband.

Olive Telecommunication is also working with service providers to offer bundled offerings.
