Symphony Services Taps Industry Veteran as New Vice President of Marketing

14 September 2009 00:00 am , CTOF Team

John Hitchcock Joins Leading Global Product Development Company to Help Accelerate Growth

Symphony Services, a global company specializing in software product engineering outsourcing services, announced today the appointment of John Hitchcock to the position of vice president of marketing.  Hitchcock will be responsible for expanding the company’s brand, driving marketing and communications strategy, and increasing revenue through targeted demand generation across the company’s commercial-grade software and embedded real-time systems engineering services.
Hitchcock brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and business development for software and technology services companies to Symphony Services.  Prior, he held marketing leadership roles at the product engineering services company GlobalLogic, and ClearCube Technology, an award-winning product company backed by Austin Ventures.  ClearCube was recognized as 2006 Technology Of The Year by InfoWorld. Hitchcock also held senior roles at Novell and General Electric.
"John brings a unique combination of relevant experience to the table," said Michael Thomas, executive vice president, sales and marketing of Symphony Services.  “He has more than two decades of success in branding and creating demand for software and technology services companies in the US, India, Europe and China. His blend of marketplace analytics and operational execution, combined with a strong understanding of sales and business development, resulting from his early years successfully selling software and services, will be a strong asset to Symphony Services."
Hitchcock commented, "As a specialist providing software product engineering globally, Symphony Services has achieved a leadership position by delivering what its clients want: outcome certainty across the entire software product lifecycle.  Through the use of innovation, cost and quality predictability, the company is helping clients deliver market-leading products that achieve the desired business goal.  I’m looking forward to helping Symphony Services continue to deliver what our client’s expect.”
Zinnov, a management consulting company, identifies the R&D off-shoring market in India alone at nearly $6 billion in 2008.  Both Zinnov and Forrester Research, a technology and market research company,  view the long term potential of the segment as positive, with Forrester indicating the growth rate of the segment will outpace traditional IT services off-shoring.
