The ASUS Universal Docking Station is said to be designed to completely manage Internet and peripheral connectivity for notebooks, creating a full desktop experience in the office or home. Busy workers and consumers alike can now connect all their computer peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, display, speakers, and wired Internet to their notebook through one device. With a single USB cable between the laptop and the universal docking station, it claims to enables improved mobility and a better user experience. Users are no longer tethered to their desks by multiple peripheral cables.

Measuring 26x8x2cm, the sleek, black ASUS Universal Docking Station features the following expansion and connectivity interfaces for total desktop management: 10/100 Ethernet, VGA and DVI connections to attach displays that support up-to full 1080p HD resolution (using a DL-165 chip from DisplayLink), audio out, microphone in, four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, two of which provide extra power to charging devices, and Kensington Lock support.

It is compatible with Windows 7 (32bit/64bit), Windows Vista (32bit/64bit), Windows 2000 (SP4), Windows XP (SP2/SP3), and Mac OS X 10.4 or higher.

The ASUS Universal Docking Station is now available in the U.S., Germany, Russia, Portugal, Poland, Norway, Sweden, and Australia, with continued worldwide availability in progress.
