Sustain or Scale - The Technology Paradox
Prudent IT investments lower corporate costs!!
While cutting costs has been a dominant corporate strategy, there is a growing focus on growing revenues as a technology responsibility. Our in-depth understanding of CIO challenges and priorities, years of interaction with CIOs, global industry leaders and analysts have led us to believe that CIOs will have to jump-start their business acumen to achieve the goal of IT-enabled growth.
Last year the forum discussed how organizations are leveraging technology to bring about business innovation. CIOs being on the forefront of this change are now grappling with the growth that optimized IT and business environments have brought about. The key challenge that CIOs face today is how to leverage technology to either scale operation to achieve and manage quantum growth or use technology to sustain and manage organic growth.
The Eighth CTO Forum will deliberate upon various issues including service-oriented architectures, achieving process excellence, infrastructure and datacenter imbroglio, enterprise security and storage, open standards and systems, intelligent communication networks, etc. among others. The flavor of the forum has evolved from tech-centric CIO issues to broader aspects of the ever-evolving role of the CIO in an enterprise.
While the forum will share salient features of how CIOs should deal with some of the core technology challenges, the focus will be on what processes and capabilities their business should be deploying in order to leverage technology investments to manage growth.
